REBIRTH

Do you believe in rebirth?
Well, I do!
Day 1 at operation theater.
All those monitors beeping and blaring, one could scarcely hear the sound of each other speaking.
Someone’s shouting in the corner, “Pass me the artery forceps! “.
“ Should I add more fentanyl or lignocaine? “
“Add more betadine here, please! “
“Turn on the suction faster. Can you please check out BP? blah blah blah.”
No offense, Sounds familiar to a busy supermarket!
Everyone is bustling & struggling as if they’re going to miss the last train to home.
The room is smelling like a slice of roasted meat and raw blood.
Blood and pieces of cotton spreading all over the table and floor.
Someone’s inserting their hand inside the stomach of a body lying over the table while the others are assisting in retracting the skin wide open. All those scissors and forceps are scattered here and there.
For a moment, it feels like butchers snatching organs out of the animal’s body to sell them.
Different organs are taken out & manipulated, dissected layers by layer.
People are pulling those organs & skin as if the person on the bed is a mannequin, not a human.
To be continued…
