Contradictions in you

To whoever feels oscillating to and fro in nothingness, every version of you is still you. Every optimistic, pessimistic, bewildered, disheartened, delighted, and many more versions of you are still you. Without any of these versions, you wouldn’t be who you are now!

you’re full of colors; bright and vibrant
flowers and rainbow seize color from you
yet you’re devoid of color
pitch black; nearly faded at times
as blank as canvas

you’re full of life; god himself
envy your existence
yet you’re spiritless; walking corpse
carrying only skin and bones
a hollow heart and heavy mind

you are not of this time; an old soul
stranded, miles away from home
yet your heart never aged
childhood still lingers somewhere in you

you’re an open book
the protagonist of every chapter and genre
yet you build walls around you
high and strong

you’re yearning; seeking something
yet you’re running from everything you deserve

you get overwhelmed with emotions today
feel nothing the other day
they make you believe you are everything
yet you think other ways

How could it be?
You’re so familiar someday
yet a total stranger the other day

How could it be?
You’re so full of contradictions!
Are you hiding or willing to be found?
Something in you seems profound
